The Brother of Jared

In sacrament meeting today a couple of the speakers talked about the Brother of Jared.  The story of the Brother of Jared building barges and seeing the Lord's finger when he touched the stones was recounted.  One of the speakers then pointed out that as the Brother of Jared was building the barges he probably was noting what issues there he encountered (how to breath, how to steer, how to see).  Despite the problems he saw with the design of the barge, the Brother of Jared continued to build the barges.  He did not stop at the first sign of problems.  He trusted the Lord and knew that even though he saw things to be fixed, and he knew that with the Lord they could be fixed.

I had never seen this perspective before.  We, too, can apply this to our lives.  When we are having difficulties with the Lord's plan for us or struggling through a trial we must continue anyways.  The Lord will take care of the rest if we just trust in him!
